Are your eyes like mine…

A lifetime watching the sunrise while sitting on my surfboard followed by a day (actually many, many days over my 40+ years in IT) reading a computer screen has damaged my eye site and contributed to my development of dry Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD). AMD is the disease of the retina that causes the progressive, painless loss of central vision, affecting the ability to see fine detail, drive, read and recognise faces. I am lucky as my AMD was discovered early during a routine eye test for a new pair of reading glasses.

So now I am going to discover and write (hopefully) interesting things about low vision, low vision aids and assistive technologies to entertain and intrigue fellow travellers who have AMD, glaucoma or other similar issues.
